Lace up your hiking books, pack water and lunch, and leave the tour-bus crowds behind. The mostly-flat, 10-mile roundtrip, (6-8 hours) Widforss Trail leads through pine forests and meadows to a small picnic area and cliff-side viewpoint. Vistas of Redwall ridges with temple-like formations stretch deep into the canyon. Take the dirt road 1/4 mile south of Cape Royal Road for 1 mile to the Widforss Trail parking area.
