Delightful in both its artistry and casualness, The Wicked in Wellfleet is a trendsetter, earning high marks since new owners Ken Kozak and Eliza Fitts took the reins. Word on the street is that these fine restaurateurs serve the best macaroni and goat cheese around.
I favor lunch offerings like pan-seared scallops on a bed of spinach salad or fried haddock with chips — and dinnertime pan roasted catch-of-the-day. Maybe something in a light crème broth with littlenecks, leeks, bacon and fingerling potatoes. Nor can you go wrong with the grilled black Angus tenderloin with bourbon caramel sauce.
If you’re feeling less adventurous, order their blue cheese and bacon burger concoction or some fried seafood.
True to their moniker, the oysters are wicked good and silky. And as for the finale, it’s always tough to decide between desserts — so I recommend sharing.
Or just come for some oysters and bubbly at the bar.
