Elaine and Kevin Conlin run a tight ship at the Whalewalk Inn and Spa — and that’s good 🙂 The attention to detail is impressive: the entire property is neat as a pin, with crisp hospital corners and neatly stacked pillows on each bed. Which is not to say it’s stuffy — it’s wonderfully relaxing.
The property hosts a range of accommodations, including a romantic cottage, three suites, a luxuriously renovated carriage house, and the most romantic room, the spa penthouse. Carriage house rooms feature four-poster beds, gas fireplaces and a small private deck or balcony. The country chic rooms in the inn are tucked into the 19th-century whaling captain’s home and decorated with a soothing color palette, a smattering of fine antiques, and airy floral fabrics.
Breakfast might include melt-in-your-mouth sour cream coffee cake, or a savory frittata with peppers, summer squash, and basil.
Spa-lovers will enjoy the exercise facility with Wii, sauna, hot tub, and a resistance indoor pool; massage treatments can be arranged.
And to those who question why stay in Eastham, since it’s neither “here nor there”? That’s precisely why — it’s quiet and perfectly positioned between “here and there” (most often meaning Chatham and Provincetown).
