Wallaby Ranch Hang Gliding Park is the world’s first and largest aerotow hang gliding park. Aerotowing eliminates the months of practice training for a hang glider to graduate from a hill to a mountain for their flights. Wallaby Ranch pioneered the method in 1991,
The aerotowing process is simple. You board a tandem hang glider–with wheels and an instructor–and towed skyward by a specially designed ultra-light plane. Once at 2,000 feet, the glider is cut loose and your instructor shows you how to control the glider by shifting your weight during the 15-20 minute flight before landing.
In addition to a single introductory tandem flight, Wallaby Ranch offers lesson packages, clinics, individual lessons, tows and glider and equipment rentals also offered.
The Wallaby Ranch Hang Gliding Flight Park not only is one of Orlando’s most unusual attractions, it is a complete destination in itself. It offers tent and RV camping facilities, children’s playground with a Dr. Seuss tree house, 7-foot deep swimming pool and climbing wall. Mountain bike and wooded walking trails are more options. Community breakfast and lunch are available.
