Bring a cooler to take home plenty of cheese and salami after visiting this classic neighborhood grocery store on The Hill.
John Viviano and his bride began the business here in 1950 and now the second and third generations of the Viviano family are in the store every day.
Viviano’s is where St. Louisans of all ethnicities come for Provel cheese, a must for St. Louis-style pizza. The olive salad and artichoke salad are also very popular, which pair well with the huge selection of Italian wines here.
Pick up souvenirs from The Hill here, including a St. Ambrose Catholic Church cookbook with contributions from all of the wonderful Italian mommas who have made The Hill such a flavorful place for generations.
