Villefranche Beach

Local beach near Nice

This little beach just east of Nice is tucked just below the train station adjacent to one of the French Riviera’s prettiest seaside towns, Villefranche-sur-mer.

The beach is not sandy, but the pebbles are fine and it’s popular for families, thanks to its sheltered turquoise seas, and with local Nice residents who want to get out of town, but not too far.

If you aren’t swimming or sunbathing, take the easy stroll to town for a coffee or ice cream, or a glass of wine at one of the many outdoor terraces lining the port.
