The Blue Mountains has a wealth of antique shops and vintage boutiques however shoppers and bargain hunters can find several retailers under one roof at the Victory Theatre Antique Centre & Café.

Situated in the arty village of Blackheath, stall holders gather under the roof of a former 1920s picture theatre. The Victory Theatre was built in 1915 as Neate’s Hall and opened as the Arcadian Picture Palace, a 999-seat cinema, in 1921.

Today the restored building is decorated with an Aboriginal inspired mural on the outside wall designed by well-known Australian fashion icon, Jenny Kee.

It’s a joy to browse among the vintage homeware, furnishings, clothes, jewellery and bric-a-brac, and relax over lunch at the cafe. Although movies are no longer screened at the Victory, the old projection room houses a new art gallery where local art is displayed.
