It might look pricey, but the Verkehrshaus transport museum is one of Switzerland’s most popular sights (especially with kids) for a very good reason.
You’ll find thousands of hands-on examples of historic and modern-day trains, buses, trolleys, planes, automobiles, bikes, rockets and boats, and there’s a whole lot of interaction going on, right down to flight simulators and radio-controlled boats. There’s also a planetarium and a 3D cinema, which also screens regular mainstream films.
A handy cafeteria-style eatery, with indoor and outdoor seating should keep hungry families happy, and there’s also the more upmarket Piccard restaurant.
Get here via bus 6, 8 or 24. Alight at the Verkehrshaus stop.
