You can spend half a day easily, wandering from shop to gallery to cafe along 89A in Uptown Sedona. You’ll find novelty shops (check out the red dirt shirts!); art galleries, jewelry, home decor, fudge and chocolate shops and touristy little stops that are great for picking up last minute souvenirs. Take time to have a cup of coffee or a leisurely lunch on one of the restaurant or cafe patios or sit beside the floor to ceiling windows that line the restaurants along the creek. The views are spectacular. In Uptown, you can take the Sedona Trolley for a 55-minute tour of the city or the Seven Canyons, pick up one of several jeep tours from A Day in the West, to Pink Jeep to Red Rock Jeep Tours, or simply stroll along and enjoy the number of public art works, you’ll find along the way (how many colorful javelina can you find?).
NOTE: Park your car in one of the parking spots along the road, or find a space back behind some of the shops. Be aware they observe parking time limits, so if you get a chalk mark on your back tire, you know they’ve been by at least once.
