Sitting on southwest tip of the Bukit Peninsula, Uluwatu is the start of a popular string of surf beaches leading up the western side of the peninsula, and the termination of a series of luxury resorts that are dotted along the southern edge. It is also home to one of the island’s most significant temples, Pura Luhur Ulu Watu.
The temple is, in turn, home to a light fingered tribe of monkeys and backdrop to a nightly (if somewhat commercialised) performance of the traditional Kecak Dance
