Tropenmuseum’s children’s museum (Tropenmuseum Junior) was founded in 1975, making it the oldest children’s museum in the Netherlands and one of the oldest in Europe. The museum has an exciting concept of using the museum collection, personal stories, and activities in a theatrical environment to engage children. You can think of it as seeing, touching, experiencing, and participating.
This means that when children visit, they are entering a new world based on the exhibition of the time. It’s a fantastic experience, and one that every child should have the privilege of experiencing.
Programmes in English should be reserved in advance and some exhibitions require a reservation no matter the language.
