If you’re looking for a good, hearty meal in a romantic setting, you can’t go wrong with Trattoria Delia, or “the Trat,” as it’s known by locals. The restaurant is set in the ground floor of an old hotel building, and the owners relocated a working sugar house for the interior décor. Set just around the corner from Burlington’s Flynn Theater, this is a popular spot for show-goers to head for a pre-concert meal or post-concert dessert. While it’s considered one of the nicer restaurants in town, it still maintains a casual, comfortable feel – helped in part by a fire going in the large stone fireplace.
They have an impressive wine list – all Italian wines – and the menu features meals from different regions of Italy. And while the end result of the dishes they offer is strictly Italian, many of their ingredients are locally sourced from Vermont farms.
