Be sure to stop in for a free hour-long tour at Topeka High School (appointment required). The school celebrates 85 years since it opened, in 2016. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this impressive architecture looks like it came straight from Harry Potter. Stained glass decorates six areas of the building and there are four fireplaces too. With its massive arches, dark wood accents and intricate artistic details, the Chester Woodward Library features a stunning two-story central reading room. Ten massive chandeliers decorate the 1,875-seat auditorium, maintained in its period glory, while the gorgeous multi-purpose and lunch room, is full of international flags and Old World charm.
