I don’t know why fudge is so hugely popular in Branson–a woman at The Fudge Shop said it was probably because people liked it, but I’ve also heard that in the old days, fudge was easy to make and transport, making it popular for locals and tourists alike.
Whatever the reason, this modest downtown shop has been doing what it does best since 1968 and offers everything from regular chocolate fudge to chocolate mint, peanut butter, and vanilla pecan fudge. It also sells salt-water taffy, peanut brittle, cashew clusters and other temptations, like the “One Foot Chocolate.” And it will ship to wherever you want. What I want to know is, what’s up with the mannequins on the roof? (I finally asked, and even the proprietress doesn’t know).
