If you’re a craft beer fan, you’ve probably heard of Surly beer, if not quaffed a few. In 2006, Surly released its first beer, a wildly hoppy IPA called Furious. Local, national and international acclaim for Surly’s brews quickly followed. It was named Best American Brewery by Beer Advocate magazine. And, ratebeer.com named its Russian imperial stout, Surly Darkness, as the best American beer.
What you may not know is that Surly offers delicious food and beer at its Destination Brewery. In the cavernous, main-level beer hall and restaurant, diners are treated to twenty to twenty-four of Surly’s finest brews on tap plus a full menu. You won’t find ordinary pub food here. Surly features a wide range of specialty bar snacks, charcuteries, cheese, burgers and sandwiches. They also offer barbecue, seafood, pasta and more. Knowledgeable “beer tenders” help pair the right beer with the right food.
During warmer weather, the beer hall opens onto an equally spacious and inviting beer garden with benches, table and toasty fire pits. Seating at the beer hall is first come, first served, and thirty- to forty-minute waits for a communal table are not uncommon, but order a beer and have fun while you wait.
