This secret Golden Gate Park hideout is just west of the Japanese Tea Garden. A local favorite for mothers jogging behind strollers and grandparents feeding ducks with their kin. Most visit this decades-old lagoon to walk laps around the water. Some hike the island in the middle of the lake to get views of the park. Photographers will find inspiration in the turtles, the waterfall, and the blooming trees. The Chinese Pavilion offers shade, while benches allow for snacks and some rest. Families love to pedal-boat or canoe around the lake. The boathouse features a snack bar with popcorn and hot dogs.
