State Street begins at Stearns Wharf and heads all the way through downtown Santa Barbara up to Highway 154, six miles away.
Lower State Street is the town’s main shopping, dining and nightlife hub. The blocks start numbering from the wharf, 100s, 200s, etc. Lower State includes the Arts & Culture District near the Arlington and Granada theaters, up to the 1500 block of State.
Upper State is where locals often go to patronize neighborhood restaurants and shops. La Cumbre Plaza and Five Points Shopping Center anchor the upper end near the busy La Cumbre Road intersection, just off Highway 101.
