Few things say summer in Kansas City better than Starlight Theater. A staple activity since the 1950s, Starlight is more than top quality Broadway shows bringing the biggest names to Kansas City. It is also concerts and community events and educational activities.
But each summer, Starlight does bring the stars out under the stars and thousands flock to the shows and dinner before in a number of different venues that reflect the theme of each show. A walk along the Walk of Fame highlights some of the big names that have performed here: Carol Burnett, Tony Curtis, Sandy Duncan, Phyllis Diller and Kansas City native Ginger Rogers.
One name missing from the Walk of Fame, one of the biggest to take the stage here – former president Harry S. Truman in “The President.”
Backstage tours are frequently offered prior to performances at no charge. Reservations required.
