Eight miles, eight viewpoints, all a must-see canyon experience. The trail starts at the shuttle bus transfer station west of Bright Angel Lodge and continues .7 mile to Trailview Overlook facing east. The view looks down at the Bright Angel Trail switchbacks that cut steeply down Bright Angel Fault to Indian Gardens. Next, Maricopa Point (.7 mile) looks east up the canyon. Powell Point Memorial (.5 mile) sits on a rocky peninsular with dramatic cross-canyon views. An easy .3 miles leads Hopi Point. With close views of a west-facing, red-rock ridge and sculpted formations, it’s packed for sunset photos. Mohave Point (.8 mile) has westward views of the river and blazing cliff-views at sunset. The Abyss Vista (1.1 miles) and Monument Creek Vista (.9 mile) offer views down cross-canyons into the Inner Gorge. At Pima Point (2 miles) you can see rafters shooting rapids a mile below.

Many day hikers catch the shuttle for the 4-mile segment between Mojave and Pima points. Hermits Rest, with snacks, is 1.1 miles farther. Bathrooms at Hopi and Hermits Rest. The outbound shuttle stops at the viewpoints every 15–30 minutes depending on time of day. Buses returning from Hermits Rest stop only at Mohave and Hopi points.
