Samuel Hawthorne (author of The House of Seven Gables) would feel right at home in this European-style inn with 32 distinct room.

Even though the building dates to 1926, the guest rooms, especially the bathrooms, are recently renovated to reflect modern expectations.

The lovely enclosed courtyard is a delightful place to enjoy a continental breakfast in the morning or the complimentary wine and cheese happy hour each evening.

But if wine doesn’t do it for you, Molly Darcy’s Irish Pub, located in the hotel, kicks it up a notch with lots of beer, mixed drinks and big screen TVs to watch the Cardinals games.

Parking is a bit of an issue in Clayton, so be prepared for a hefty valet parking charge.
