A single story museum that offers a collection of archaeological artefacts, photographs and exhibits, including salt-making, sugar extraction and “songket” weaving (hand-woven in silk or cotton and intricately patterned with gold and silver threads).

One of the most significant events in Klungkung’s history is depicted in an exhibit that tells the story of the unsuccessful 1908 uprising by the Balinese against the Dutch. The uprising followed an attempt by the Dutch to grab control over the island,  and led to mass suicide by the Balinese, the act of which is known as “puputan”.
