Robert Schuman was the architect of the united Europe we know today. It’s fitting that the Metro station named after him should be right in between the two biggest EU buildings in town. You won’t usually have access to them, as they are for employees only and are guarded 24/7. However, every May 09 on Robert Schuman Day The Berlaymont, Justus Lipsius and other buildings throw open their doors for free, for anyone who’s interested. Tours and other special events allow you to see things you would not usually be able to. Other days, however, are just photo opportunities for most.
