The small fishing village of Sayulita, just around the north corner of Banderas Bay, has become a beacon for hippies, surfers, lovers of Mexican culture and, recently, searchers for upscale restaurants and shopping. It is a place in the advanced stages of gentrification, but enough of its original charm exists to keep it still charming.

It’s a good town for a stroll, with a leafy plaza, excellent shops and good dining opportunities.
