San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge

Connecting San Francisco to Oakland and the rest of the East Bay, the Bay Bridge is really two bridges connected by a tunnel at Yerba Buena Island.

The bridge’s western span, closest to San Francisco, was transformed into an iconic light  sculpture by artist Leo Villareal, where 25,000 LED lights create a never-repeating display from dusk until dawn.

The recently rebuilt eastern span of the bridge is an ode to modern architecture and includes  pedestrian and bicycle paths that offer unparalleled views of the Bay, Alcatraz, San Francisco, and the Golden Gate.
