Looking at the outside, you might think the Royal Gorge Dinosaur Experience is pure entertainment. But, you’ll be blown away by the guides depth of knowledge about these extinct creatures. We marveled at the life-size casts of dinosaurs and other extinct creatures in the museum. Outside where you can stroll on a path passing more than a dozen life-size dinosaurs who move and roar, both the kids and you will be fascinated. These “monsters” really got kids excited while we were there. There are also hands-on exhibits with actual fossils.
Try the Ropes Course
Challenging yourself on the ropes course, while a T-Rex studies your skills, is an added bonus. We thought a visit was going to be a hokey experience, but we were wrong. We learned as much about the dinosaurs as you could learn in a dinosaur exhibit in some of the big city’s nature and science museums.
It’s a fun way to spend a few hours after a half-day raft trip, a hike or a visit to Royal Gorge Bridge & Park. But don’t look for the Royal Gorge Dinosaur Experience in the Park because it’s actually a few miles away. It’s about an hour’s drive from Colorado Springs.
