Rottingdean is a small beach side town literally next to Brighton. You can either make the 20 minute walk down the boardwalk heading West or hire a bike (my recommendation).
The town has a great little high street that is filled with a range of unique shops and boutiques. There are also quite a few pubs, restaurants and cafes. My favourite is Smugglers for fish and chips. This classic style British Chippy serves up old style fish and chips and is located nice and close to the beach so you can head down and eat there.
The village was once the home of celebrated author Rudyard Kipling and you can visit Kipling Gardens. Find out more about Rottingdean at the Grange Art Gallery and Museum.
