Rose Water

Instigator of the local food revolution

Rosewater’s mantra is “as much local, regional, organic, and sustainably raised food as the season will allow.” Going for 15+ years, the tiny dining room and all-seasons covered patio predate the mainstreaming of eating local if not the sprawling farmer’s market at the base of Union Street, where you can preview weekly shifts in the menu. Expect giant heirloom tomatoes and tiny cold-water clams. Yelpers sometimes balk at the updated prices, but the $29 three-course Seasonal Market Menu served Monday to Thursday evenings is a welcome throwback to the last century.
