It’s difficult to decide what to love most about Rooster, but let’s start with the artwork at this popular breakfast and lunch spot. If it looks like it comes from the heart of a child – it does. The owners partnered with a local elementary school to create the many whimsical chicken images you see on the walls.
But the food is equally creative. Most ingredients are sourced from local farmers. The most popular item on the menu is anything with crepe in the name. The egg scrambles are also best sellers, but it would be a challenge to find something that is not delicious here, and that goes double for vegans.
Finally – or maybe we should have led with this – Rooster is recognized as the Best Place to Have a Blood Mary in St. Louis. There are six creative mixes for Bloody Marys – try them all, but start with the House version which has a hearty 17 ingredients.
A second Rooster location is at 3150 S. Grand.
