That’s right – when you visit Rockway Vineyards it wouldn’t be that surprising if you heard someone out on a fairway yelling Four! The winery is the only one in Ontario where you can play 18 holes, visit a wine museum (Le Musee Du Vin), or just relax in the club house for lunch or dinner with some of the estate’s own wine.
The winery is considered one of Ontario’s premier golf destinations, with an 18-hole semi-private course nestled within the sprawling vineyard on the Niagara Escarpment. The winery even offers reasonably-priced golf, dine and wine packages.
I first heard of Rockway Vinyeards when I was looking for a VQA winery that offered a private label service for small. I had a couple cases of the Clubhouse Riesling labelled to give to clients when I celebrated a milestone business anniversary. It was a fun and delicious way to celebrate.
They charge a nominal fee for tastings.
The small Musee Du Vin museum includes an exhibit of the history of winemaking depicted through displays that include pieces of antique winemaking equipment. The tour is at 2 p.m. daily; admission is $5 adults and includes 2 tastings at the winery’s tasting bar.
The club house restaurant is open to the public. They serve an all-day breakfast, as well as lunch, and dinner.
David Stasiuk is the winemaker.
They are participating in Get Fresh in the Valley on April 5-6, April 12-13, and April 26-27.
