Even from the outside, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando Odditorium lives up to its strange name. The 10,000-square foot building appears tilted at an angle, as if sinking into one of Florida’s dreaded sinkholes.
As traveler Robert Ripley once said, “I have traveled 201 countries and the strangest thing I’ve seen was man.” Ripley’s Odditorium displays 16 galleries of collections of weird art and hobbies. They emphasize the unusual and odd from all over the world.
Many of the 600 exhibits are similar to those of an old circus freak show. Animal and human oddities and deformities are among the main features. And, yes, there are genuine shrunken heads and even an authentic vampire killing kit.
Unlike many places, Ripley’s encourages photos and videos. Don’t be bashful about taking them The gift shop also is worth a look. The Odditorium is wheelchair accessible. Free parking available in the attraction parking lot. Look for discount tickets online.
