This is a smaller scale operation than its cousin the Bronx Zoo. So you won’t find elephants here, or anything particularly ferocious (though you can ride a lion at the carousel just down the road).
You will find over 100 (smaller) species spread around these 12 accessible acres. The primates, including the Geoffroy’s marmoset family (mom Xing, dad Gordon, and their baby triplets) are especially cute.
Exhibits and special programming go year-round. Enter either on Flatbush Ave or near the carousel inside the park.
