After the family that started the Baldknobbers show began performing for tourists, the Presley family began a show of their own, staged in cool underground venues–Ozark caves. When they outgrew the caves due to sell-out crowds, they opened their first theater on a lonely road outside town in 1968; that road is now Branson’s claim to fame: bustling Highway 76.

Today, the Presleys’ Country Jubilee has grown to include four generations of entertainers, in a show that provides old and new country and gospel songs and the comedic antics of family members. Their show has also been broadcast on RFD-TV. This is the family that journalist Paul Harvey credited as the “founders of Branson’s Entertainment Phenomenon.” And now you know the rest of the story.
