What began in 1974 as a Bohemian bright idea has flourished into an economic engine – generating an estimated $8 million in gross sales each year. Today the Portland Saturday Market is the nation’s largest continuously operating arts and craft market, attracting more than a million visitors each year.
Portland Saturday Market has 264 booths and 400 members from the Pacific Northwest. Artisans sell everything from clothing and candles, to baby gifts, body products, instruments and jewelry.
The food booths sell some of the finest-tasting vittles in the region, including a heart-shaped falafel from the Beirut Café.
Don’t forget to check out the Skidmore Market, located just across Naito Parkway.
Take MAX Light Rail to get there, getting off at the Skidmore or Chinatown/Old Town stop.
