Portland bridges connect the east and west sides of town over the Willamette River. Portland has the world’s only telescoping double-deck vertical lift bridge (Steel), the world’s oldest lift bridge (Hawthorne), and the country ‘s longest tied-arch bridge (Fremont).

Here are the bridges you’d encounter in order if you were traveling south on the Willamette River:

St. Johns
Burlington Northern Railroad Bridge
Fremont
Broadway
Steel
Burnside
Morrison
Hawthorne
Marquam
Tilikum Crossing
Ross Island
Sellwood
