If you like handcrafted beer, head over to Port Huron Brewing Co. The small brewery began making suds in 2011, then opened a tasting room in 2012.
Since the place is relatively small, things are constantly changing, so call before you head over. But generally the Engine House Tap Room is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Tours are available twice daily when the brewmaster is in.
Four beers are on tap year-round: a honey blonde, Hefeweizen, amber alt and porter. Seasonal selections include an oatmeal stout, Oktoberfest and smoked maibock. You can order a pint, or go for a sampler flight if you want to taste it all. You can also purchase and fill a growler or two or three.
The brewery sets out free popcorn and pretzels, which is always nice. And the place is so laid back, you’re welcome to bring along a sack lunch/dinner to enjoy with your beer, or even order in!
Port Huron plans to eventually increase its beer selection, plus craft its own soda, too.
