Get up early and catch the first rays of dawn striking Bourke Point deep in the canyon—magic. Then the sun paints the inner canyon with fiery hues as each strata lights up with shades of reds and golds. Stunning at any time of the day, the view captures the majesty of the canyon, but it’s just too vast for the human mind to grasp. The Point Imperial Trail (4 miles roundtrip) is rated Easy and leads along the rim to the park boundary and the junction with Nankoweap Trail into the canyon.
