Unfamiliar with a “luxury” hostel? So was I. The international chain of Plus Hostels is a heartening trend of adding a bit more dignity to the hostelling experience.
Oh, it’s still a hostel, but with a lot of touches, small and large, to stand apart from what you usually see in Italian hostels. Plus gives you a pool, sauna, nice towels, a small fitness room, onsite café and bar, TVs in the rooms, and girls-only spaces with big bathrooms, cosmetic tables with large mirrors, hairdryers and a complimentary cosmetics bag.
The hostel has a tourism information desk, free wi-fi, computer terminals and they’ve scored a great location, less than 10 minutes walk from the central train station.
Some of the rooms have small balconies and those bunk beds with the double-wide lower bunks. There’s an all-you-can-eat breakfast for five euros. Also of note, the desk staff are young, good-natured and multi-lingual.
