Après Paris, Plottes

After Paris, Plottes, so stated Henry IV in 1562 during the wars of religion. He wanted to capture the castle at Plottes but had to want. He needed to direct his armies to the defense of Paris first.

Today Plottes is a wine village not far from Tournus and the A6 Autoroute. Plottes feels bigger than it really is thanks to the fact the village sits in a small valley making it elongated.

There is a winery in town – Domaine du Clos Gandin. It’s in the center of the village off the street near the large wine press.

Plottes also has a bit of military history attached to it – on November 13, 1944 an American B26 bomber crashed in its woods killing all nine crew members.
