Set just of Main Street in downtown Burlington, Pizzeria Verita cooks up what many consider to be the best pie in town. The Neapolitan-style pizza is baked in an Acunto oven and topped with local ingredients. For an appetizer try the burrata antipasta, served with fig jam and focaccia, and for a pizza, give the mais a try – served with fire- roasted sweet corn, speck and crème fraiche.
Verita also prides itself in its craft cocktails, made with Vermont and Italian spirits, and house-made bitters. Check out their website for special events like wine and spirit tastings. The restaurant does get crowded on weekends, so make a reservation ahead of time or show up early in the evening – if the tables are full, try to grab a seat at the back bar and watch the pizzas being made. While Verita is somewhat upscale for a pizza joint, it still has a nice, casual vibe to it.
