The 2.7-mile journey between the two peaks, Whistler and Blackcomb, is an awesome high-in-the-sky 11-minute ride. And if you happen to secure a gondola with a glass floor (they’re the grey-coloured carriages), add breath-taking to the experience.
Yes, you need a head for heights but traveling through, and even above the clouds is serious business. After all, this engineering marvel is “the highest cable car above ground” and the “longest unsupported span between two cable cars.”
In all likelihood, you’ll find snow on the top in July so take a light jacket – it might be 80 degrees below but in P2P’s stratosphere, the temperature could be a few degrees above freezing!
