One of the pleasures of attending the renowned Sarlat Saturday Market is a musical treat. The delightful duo Paris-Londres perform outside the Cathédrale St-Sacerdos. If you miss that catch them outside the Tourist Office on rue Tourny most evenings from June to September.
Parisian Bruno Vatys and Londoner Sophie Read found themselves in Sarlat way back in 1996 and have been performing in the area ever since. Bruno is a talented guitarist/vocalist and Sophie’s virtuoso violin playing is a real treat. Their music, composed mostly by Bruno, consists of uplifting melodies and haunting refrains which will remind you of your visit to Sarlat whenever you hear them.
Their latest album ‘Les Musiciens du Rue’ (2016) is live and recorded in Brittany. They also have a ‘Best of’ vocal album available which regroups 30 of their most popular songs on two CDs.
