Looming over Old Nice, and located on the Colline du Chateau or Castle Hill, this park offers unforgettable views over the Baie des Anges and the city, and by night the illuminated Chateau is striking against a summer sky.
Unfortunately, there is very little left of the chateau, a medieval fortress with a long history in Nice.
From the time of the ancient Greeks, residents took shelter on the high hill to escape attacks from various invaders. By the 13th century, the hill was inhabited by several thousand people who had erected churches, a market and even hospitals.
-Cascade Donjon—an artificial waterfall
-The Tour Bellanda— a 6th-century tower rebuilt in the 19th century
You can access the park by elevator or stairs from the eastern end of the Old Town.
