The deluxe Palazzo casino resort almost outshines its elder sister, the Venetian. More intimate than its neighbor, the Palazzo also delivers more bang for your buck, not just with its sumptuous hotel suites, but also its high-end shopping mall, anchored by Barneys New York department store and a small galaxy of catwalk stars and sought-after European imports.
Lavo, an Italian restaurant and casino club, is a smash with celebs, but if you hate velvet-rope lines, kick back instead at Azure pool club on sunny summer days, Laguna champagne bar inside the casino, or downstairs at Lagasse’s Stadium, a sports book with big-screen TVs and a kitchen menu by chef Emeril – bam!
Speaking of star chefs, Wolfgang Puck’s Cut rates among the best steakhouse on the Strip (Mario Batali’s Carnevino, also at the Palazzo, fails to measure up). Upstairs inside the mall, SushiSamba fires up innovative South American–Japanese fusion fare, while Emeril’s Table 10 is a buttoned-down New American dining room.
