If you are in the plateau driving north out of Oristano you can stop and visit the impressive Nuraghe Losa, near Abbasanta, that appears in the middle of this solitary plain. Nuraghe Losa is a great example of a megalithic Bronze Age fortress, dating to the XIV century BC. The inner tholos corbelled chambers inside the keep are very well preserved. It has a large central tower and 3 smaller towers. Remains of a village and a huge stone wall are around the nuraghe.
