The New Beverly Cinema has carved out its own territory with its Grindhouse Tuesdays, when they screen everything from classic Hong Kong chop sockie to forgotten treasures like The Sinful Dwarf and Astro-Zombies.The reel of exploitation trailers alone are worth the price of admission.
The Beverly also does a mean midnight show and also programs classic films, including foreign faves. Double features prevail.
Quentin Tarantino bought the theater and said, “As long as I’m alive, and as long as I’m rich, the New Beverly will be there, showing double features in 35mm.”
