Located about an hour from Lexington is Natural Bridge State Resort Park. Hike up to the sandstone arch which is 78 feet in length, 65 feet high, 12 feet thick, and 20 feet wide. You can walk across the arch and see spectacular views of the park and the adjacent Red River Gorge Geological Area (www.redrivergorge.org). There are 10 hiking trails at the park, with most of them leading to the bridge. If hiking is not your thing, there is a ski lift to get you up to the top.
The park also offers pedal boats, miniature golf and square dancing in the summer months.
