Part of Columbia College, this compact museum focuses on photography from the early 20th century onward. Images by Dorothea Lange, Ansel Adams, Robert Mapplethorpe, Marina Abramovic, Aaron Siskind and some 500 more of the world’s top shutterbugs comprise the permanent collection. Works rotate by exhibition, so you’ll see something new each time you visit. The special exhibitions (also free) are equally excellent.
