A “must stop” in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Multnomah Falls gets nearly two million visitors a year.
Plummeting 620 feet from its origins on Larch Mountain, Multnomah Falls is the second-highest year-round waterfall in the United States.
The hike provides a nice workout, and the path is moderate and gorgeous. The payoff is incredible views of the falls along the way, and a panoramic view of the scenic Columbia River Gorge. There also are numerous hikes originating from the site.
