Mr. Pancake is definitely the spot to go for flapjacks. The immense pancakes are light, fluffy and quite tasty. They’re also beautifully topped, dusted and sprinkled with everything from chocolate chips and pecans to blueberries,strawberries and whipped cream.

The menu features nearly 20 types of pancakes, including Iowa corn and peanut butter (two separate types, not one!). There are also waffles, blintzes, crepes, omelets and more.

The bacon, by the way, is wonderfully done – not too squiggly, not too crispy, not too greasy.

Coffee is served in the requisite ceramic mug, with extra servings left in a cute, personal carafe.

For those more in the lunch mode, a few sandwiches and burgers are also on the menu. Sharing a plate costs $2.50.

TIP

Save 10% on your bill if you arrive before 9 a.m. or after noon during summer. You’ll get a table pretty easily, too.
