Take 15,000 people on bicycles in the middle of St. Louis in the middle of the night in the middle of October.
That’s what the Moonlight Ramble is, an event that began in 1964 and has grown to be the world’s largest nighttime bike ride. The whole thing is coordinated by the Gateway Council of Hostelling International and raises money for various charities.
The route is about 15 miles in and around downtown St. Louis, past the Arch, the Stadium, Union Station and streets lined with cheering spectators.
Begins at Midnight at the Soldier’s Memorial at 14th and Chestnut Streets in downtown St. Louis.
